Guide to Emini Forex Trading

Emini Forex Trading allows the smaller speculator to trade forex futures contracts.

There are currently two emini currency contracts:

EuroFX mini contract

This contract represents EUR62,500. This is half the size of the standard EuroFX contract. Margin requirements for this contract are around $1,280 initially and $950 for maintenance.

Japanese Yen Mini Futures

These contracts are also half the size of the standard contract. A mini contract represents ¥6,250,000. Margin requirements are typically around $1,350 initially and $1,000 for maintenance.

Currently there is not a great deal of liquidity in these contracts because they are relatively new. However, as time passes they will probably gain in popularity, especially amongst small traders, so there could be many more on offer in the not to distant future.
